I am thinking about getting one for my car. Hate the catback(actually I love it, just wish it was obnoxious once in a while)

Obnoxious is my Fiat, or at least, I suspect she will be, because no cat, no muffler, nothing past the downpipe coming off the exhaust manifold. :)

This BRZ is a bit too much, I'd say. I think there needs to be a balance.

Obnoxious is awesome to a level. Because when the idle is this loud you'll get tired way too fast.

That sounds like ass. Do they make dumps or a diverter system so it doesn't sound like that all the time? Like hit a switch and return to civilized peoples land but hit the track and let it scream?

I opted to get mine with a muffler, but I've thought about doing a delete eventually.

I just feel like it would be too much. Every now and then it would be nice, but cruising to work might be annoying.

The nice thing is I can order a pipe without the muffler and just swap it out. I might try it someday.

...That sounds rather tempting. I'd love to do that to mine

Muffler deletes arrived at my house yesterday for my coyote powered mustang. I can't wait to get them on. I planned on doing it this morning, but yesterday (see my worst day ever post) threw me off a bit.

the nova has caps on the h-pipe. when i was in highschool one of my buddies from autotech gnabbed 'em, so i rolled around poppin and cacklin' for about a weekend. but no caps, no more. i bolted a pair of purple hornies to the collectors, still loud, but now loud and classy.

No they don't but this will be on my car 5% of the time probably less. I have a big oil' muffler that will stay on their. The muffler delete is just for racing and once in a while assholishness.

Which is why for DD I will have muffler on ;) This is more for autox or track days.

Terrible or sexy? Honestly I agree although he doesn't have a cat or a resonator(mine is enormous) so maybe it will sound better. Either way muffler delete is for racing. Muffler is for the street.

I don't know. Doesn't look too bad...I mean I would have gotten a silver color.

What your plan is what I am doing! I am only using the muffler delete for track days or autox and if I feel like being N asshole around town. Sometimes I like to be a bit antisocial!

Yeah, but knowing myself I'll change it once and then be too lazy to jack up the car

Haha, I know what you mean! Luckily you can remove the muffler in my car without jacking the car up! It takes like 10 minutes max!

Yes, sure. We all find the obnoxious and ridiculous stuff cool until we have to live with it.

A few years ago, me and my dad went searching for a Ute. It'd be a workhorse, so we were looking for mechanical integrity and didn't care about looks. We settled on a 2001 VW Saveiro 1.8, the previous owner was kind of a ricer, but the drivetrain was perfect.

It had no muffler, but we thought it sounded cool and kept it like that for a while... it was unbearable. That engine resonated absurdly around 2k~2,5k rpm. I think it had a harmonic frequency with the bodywork or platform because the whole car vibrated in unison and it felt like your brain was vibrating with it.

You must be skinny. I don't think I would fit under my car without jacking it up.

I can't recommend it enough, especially when paired with a good intake. Also, as an added bonus, when I keep my foot out of it, it picked up about 2mpg from the muffler delete alone.

Had a shop delete the resonator and suitcase muffler off of my MKV Rabbit (2.5L 5-cyl) and never looked back! Idle is nice and deep, when I get on it it's loud. The only complaint I have is that it drones between 55 and 65 mph. Other than that, it's not too obnoxious.
